Steps in the Authority process
The main steps in bringing a problem to the Employment Relations Authority are:
- Lodging an Application - forms to do this can be downloaded here.
- Getting the issues straight - preparation ahead of the investigation meeting.
- Investigation Meeting - where the Authority member hears from both parties and asks questions to discover the facts.
- Deliberation by an Authority member and determination - the member makes their decision on the problem.
- After the Authority Determination - taking the matter further.
These steps are outlined in this website and in the Practice Note.
